just bring it.

I'm too tired to go into my "why you should vote for Jason Castro if you want to stick it to The Man" rant at this late hour [it'll come later. Maybe tomorrow], but this week they're doing a Songs That Inspired Rock & Roll theme. Which is all kinds of awesome. They are choosing songs from this list, which is from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Based on this list and songs I've heard, here are songs Jason should choose from if he wants to bring it and earn his place in the top 3 [not that it matters to the judges at this point because they all loathe him for some ungodly reason]. If he chooses one of these songs, I proclaim myself either clairvoyant or just a really good judge of what he should sing. He should hire me. Or something.

Ramblin' Man - Allman Brothers Band
House of the Rising Sun - the Animals
God Only Knows - the Beach Boys
More Than a Feeling - Boston
Folsom Prison Blues - Johnny Cash [maybe? He showed his gorgeous lower register last week]
Oh What a Night [December 1963] - the Dells
Tangled Up in Blue - Bob Dylan
Take it Easy - the Eagles
Maybe I'm Amazed - Paul McCartney
Roxanne - Sting and the Police [he's already done Sting once...]
American Girl - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
When Doves Cry - Prince [stripped down all acoustic style]
Sittin' On the Dock of the Bay - Otis Redding [ONLY if he rocks out on the bridge]
Jumpin' Jack Flash - Rolling Stones
The Sound of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel [only if he nails the vocal, has a true moment and backs it up with a balls-out rockin' performance as his other one]
Pride [In the Name of Love] - U2
Pride and Joy - Stevie Ray Vaughan

There are so, so, so many songs on this list he would sound great on ... but he needs to just throw down and lay himself out there on Tuesday. Right now he has nothing to lose - he's been crucified in the media thanks to TPTB - and a hell of a lot to gain.
